Welcome to Whore College

This blogspot hosts the videopodcast for Whore College. Whore College was launched in conjunction with the San Francisco Sex Worker Film and Arts Festival.

Hosted by Scarlot Harlot, author of Unrepentant Whore: Collected Work of Scarlot Harlot (available at http://www.amazon.com), these video clips present music, comedy, theater and history of the sex workers' rights movement.

Carol Leigh (AKA Scarlot Harlot), sex worker-activist and artist, coined the term "sex work" in the late 70s. She administers the BAYSWAN (http://bayswan.org) website which features the most extensive information about sex worker rights and issues on the web. Leigh represented the San Francisco Commission on the Status of Women on the Board of Supervisors' Task Force on Prostitution.
